As far as I know, neural solves only well on image-related topics. Why it is so hot recently?
It also performs well on natural language processing and speech. e.g. Speech recognition, machine translation, machine reading comprehension.
It also performs well on human-level control task through deep reinforcement learning. e.g. Robots manipulation, games (GO).
