Is it that Liszt defaults to choosing the representation or that Liszt is the only one that can? Stated another way, is there anyway for the programmer to choose the mesh representation if they so desired?

From what I understand, Liszt determines the mesh representation by itself, though the programmer can influence this representation by specifying the type of mesh and its topology, as mentioned above. Having Liszt create the mesh itself would allow it to design the mesh for whatever parallelism it'll make use of.
