I am always thinking about the value of lock free. Lock free codes mean that it is likely to have a bug and very hard to maintain. Is it a really economical best choice for industry?

@Tengjiao, after today's lecture with O'Hallaron, it seems like there are clearly very viable options outside of the use of locks that allow for well implemented parallel code. And on that note, doesn't the message passing model not use locks at all?
