Supercomputers and data centers perform very different tasks, so their hardware, programming models, etc. are quite different, which makes combining the two a challenge.

The design of these two systems is at times diametrically opposite: where supercomputers are low-level whereas data center are high level, the hardware for supercomputers is costly and reliable whereas data centers try to keep costs low by allowing less reliable parts but having bulk.
