I read a few posts on highscalability.com, and it was pretty cool. According to http://highscalability.com/blog/2014/7/21/stackoverflow-update-560m-pageviews-a-month-25-servers-and-i.html, stackoverflow could be run on 5 servers (although they currently have 25). I thought it was really interesting that all of the servers of some major websites still essentially sit in one room.
