CMU's McWilliams Center for Cosmology has really exciting researches on both cosmological simulations and large sky surveys. I found the dark matter simulations (on the formation of disk galaxies in the first 500 million years of the universe in cold dark matter) and the 3-D color map of the universe to date (by analyzing the trillion-plus pixel image taken from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey-III's telescope at the Apache Point Observatory in New Mexico) particularly interesting! link1 and link2

I found this 15618 project on N-body Barnes Hut simulation: GPU Accelerated Barnes-Hut simulation. (I find that reading code sometimes helps me understand the actual stuff going on, hence I thought of sharing this here)
