We've spent plenty of time working with functional syntax in 150/210, so I think it's pretty familiar to most of us. I've also found that functional's relative lack of flexibility is sometimes helpful in coming up with a solid solution to a problem. Would it be possible/advisable to have a language that has options for both imperative and functional syntax?

There are many languages that have options for both imperative and functional syntax. Off the top of my head, Python was built to be multi-paradigm, Javascript is inherently functional, and even C++ can be functional. Of course, I don't think its advisable to in most cases, with the exception of explicitly multi-paradigm languages, but it is certainly doable in many languages.
