I agree that parallelism seems to be one of the best ways to achieve higher performance. A great example would be the PS Vita. It has a quad core processor, compared to the single core processor of its predecessor (PSP) and as a result, it is capable of producing graphics near the level of a PS3 without any lag or delay whatsoever. The nintendo 3DS also has a dual-core processor and so does the iPhone 5S (which apple claims to be the fasted phone on the market, maybe not but it is still pretty darn good). The iPad has dual core CPUs and quad-core GPUs. All of these handheld devices from phones to tablets to gaming devices are only getting better and better through 1 main reason : multi-core processors. However, i do have one question, is the focus more towards upgrading GPU's or CPU's when it comes to multi-core faculties. It seems to be different for the various devices. The 3DS and PS Vita seem to like have a quad-core CPU but apple seems to like having the quad-core graphics more. Which would be better in the future?
